Q. Are all of your items original antiques?

A. Yes they're guaranteed original with no reproductions, although some may be fitted with new parts during restoration, such as lock keeps & keys, if so they will be described as such. 

Q. Whats the difference between a mortise lock & a rim lock? 

A. A mortise lock fits in to the door edge, so that only the face is visible. A rim lock is surface mounted on the door, with the whole lock body visible. 

Q. Do you produce a catalogue?

A. No, because all of the items on offer are genuine antiques, not readily available or made to order. Our web site is our catalogue. 

Q. Is the site up to date & are all the items shown available?

A. Yes its constantly updated and all of the quantities shown are accurate. 

Q. How quickly do you dispatch?

A. On receipt of cleared payment (instant if using PayPal) we aim to dispatch the next day where possible or the next working day. 

Q. Do you lacquer your brassware?

A. No. 

Q. How is your ironwork finished?

A. Normally lightly burnished with a protective coat of wax or lacquer, although some may be supplied in a satin black finish where appropriate. (Please see item description for any deviations to this)

Q. Can I return items not to my satisfaction?

A. Yes,all we ask is for notification of your intention to return as soon as possible. Returns should then be made within 14 days of receipt, provided of course that they have not been tampered with in any way. Items returned outside of the above period may be subject to a re-stocking charge. 

Q. Do you deliver worldwide?

A. Yes, unless otherwise stated on larger items where the cost may be prohibitive. 

Q. Can we visit to view?

A. Yes with pleasure, but please contact us first to avoid a wasted journey. 

Q. Do you buy similar items to those on your site?

A. Yes of course,we're always looking for interesting replacement stock, but it must be genuine.
