Genuine Edwardian Door Plate & Knob of 1911 with Lion Mask Detail
Reputed to have come from Biddulph Grange in Staffordshire and made by the renowned brassfounders James Collins, the reverse side stamped with their logo, and the design registration number for the year of 1911. This superb quality piece of original door furniture is of heavy cast yellow brass, boldly embossed with a foliage pattern and shows four impressive lion masks. There are two raised plaques to the vertical plate, and one on which the beautifully detailed door knob sits, this accepts the imperial standard size 5/16" (8 mm) square lock spindle, and turns freely on the plate. There are ten fixing holes around the plate which is for left hand fitting.
